A figure from history and skeleton assignment: Draw a copy of a figure in pencil done by any great master prior to 1900. It may be from a painting or a drawing. Some of the masters may include, but not be limited to, Rembrandt, Velazquez, Van Dyke, or Michelangelo. Look in Art History books and find a figure with which you "connect". If you are excited about the artwork you are copying, it will be apparent in your drawing. Next, redraw the figure but only as a skeleton. Look at how the position of the bones relates to the pose of the figure. Include as many bones and as in much detail as possible.
Bring in all 3: 1. the master artwork, 2. your copy, 3. the skeleton drawing.
