Mixed media on Bristol

This work merges painterly realism with layered monotype printing and mixed-media collage, creating a surface where memory and identity converge. Using gel plate monotype as a foundation, the piece incorporates fragments of book pages, acrylic with translucent layers of , and textural impressions pulled from a single, unrepeatable print.

The layered construction becomes both metaphor and method—revealing and obscuring in equal measure. Realistic imagery emerges from beneath translucent veils of color and paper, suggesting the shifting nature of personal narrative. Each layer serves as a record of a moment: a gesture, a decision, a trace of history embedded into the work’s physical structure.

The result is a composition that feels excavated as much as constructed—an intimate interplay between the seen and the hidden, the remembered and the reimagined. The work invites close looking, encouraging viewers to discover the subtle relationships between material, memory, and meaning.
