A nod to the litho studio: was about translating a feeling. This monotype began with a photograph I took in Catania, Sicily, but the goal was never to replicate it.

You know those objects in public covered in years of paint, where layers crack and peel to reveal what came before? That’s how Catania felt to me. History sitting just beneath the surface. I tried to build that into this monotype, with bright color pushing through worn, fractured layers.

There’s also a small detail I kept for myself. The shop on the left is actually a print studio focused on typography and lithography. It felt right to quietly fold that into the work
