Your assignment:
- To draw a 2cm x 22cm horizontal rectangle with a drawing pencil.
- To subdivide that rectangle into 11 2 by 2 cm squares
- To leave the square on the far right the white of the paper which will be known a zone 10
- To shade the square on the extreme left until it is totally black. This will be known as zone 0
Create a smooth and even pencil drawing.
Once you learn how to create all of the values, you can apply them to shapes to create the illusion of three dimensions. This is called chiaroscuro. See example below:
Advanced Option: Try and draw the sphere with all of the values. Include a background.
